Early season teal and wood duck hunting this year was outstanding. My duck hunting clients all had opertunities to bag a limit of blue-winged teal. One group of hunters bagged a total of 11 blue-winged teal during the opening day afternoon hunt. The action was fast with all hunters getting steady action. Quite a few duck were un-recoverable due to the very heavy brush on the lake. Best action came to the duck hunters that used a Mojo (mechanical) battery operated decoy.

Duck Hunting Report - Florida Lake Okeechobee - September 24, 2007

Lake Okeechobee duck hunters Mike Compitiello (Plantation, FL - e-mail: mikecompitiello@cs.com) and a friend got their limit of blue-winged teal during a morning of duck hunting on September 24, 2007 with Captain Ron. They had an excellent morning of duck hunting with many shots at wood ducks and blue-winged teal. They hunted over decoys in the Fisheating Creek Bay area of Lake Okeechobee.

Lake Okeechobee duck hunters Miguel Quesada (Miami, FL - e-mail: mquesada@linkconstructiongroup.net), Raul Rodriguez (Miami, FL - e-mail: luar77@bellsouth.net) and 4 others hunters seen plenty of ducks and had plenty of action shots at blue-winged teal and woodies during a Saturday opening day afternoon of early season duck hunting on September 22, 2007 with Captain Ron. They picked up 11 blue-winged teal and could not find several others. Ducks were hunted in the Fisheating Creek Bay areas of Lake Okeechobee.

Lake Okeechobee duck hunter George Stout (Key West, FL - e-mail: crsgs@aol.com) seen plenty of ducks and had some action shots at blue-winged teal and woodies during an afternoon and morning of early season duck hunting on September 22nd. & 23rd. 2007 with Captain Ron. George shot several other teal and a wood duck that we could not find. Ducks were hunted in the north shore areas of Lake Okeechobee.
