duck hunting Lake Okeechobee September 2003 hunting reports about
Florida duck hunters and others from across the United States
who have duck hunted on Lake Okeechobee with Cap'n Ron. Ihave includedthe hunter's
name, address, city, state, phone number, e-mail address, date
and year the party duck hunted in all my duck hunting reports
so as toverify there content. Please feel free to call
or e-mail any of the folks below or throughout my web site to
really find outwhat Ron's Guide Service is all about and
how I have made duck hunting on Florida's Lake Okeechobee something
that is now very affordable!
The Florida
early wood duck season on Lake Okeechobee this year was excellent! The
early blue-winged teal season on the other hand was poor. The
poor teal hunting was not for a lack of teal. Blue-winged teal
populations this year are up
30% from last year.
The heavy
rain which raised the lake's water level to nearly 17 feet and
local flooding it caused was the primary teal hunting problem.
The high water made for poor teal hunting in that the teal stayed
in the flooded cow pastures, sugar cane and agricultural fields
rather then on the lake and within the range of hunters. The wood
duck hunting was the best
ever due
to the high water which opened up areas of standing timber that
were not accessable for years. I was amased at the amount of woodies
I and my guide parties have seen during the 5 day season. Lots
of duck hunters missed out on this super hunting this year due
to the early season duck hunting reports and forecast of poor
duck hunting they heard about.
