The
Florida early wood duck season opening day morning on Lake Okeechobee
this year was excellent. The afternoon
hunt was fair. The early blue-winged
teal opening day season likewise was excellent. For some reason there were hardly
any duck hunters out on opening day weekend. I likewise did not
have a large turn out of duck hunters. In any event the wood duck
hunting was the best I have seen in years. There were woodies
flying in singles and pairs most of the mornings and late afternoons.
